Treasurer, Bill Kim
Bill is a born and raised city boy, growing up not far from Brookline in Mt. Washington. In 2010, he bought a house in Brookline where he currently lives with his wife and 3 children. Bill has graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in accounting, Served in the United States Army, and currently works for Pittsburgh Public Schools in the IT Department.
Bill was drawn to Brookline in the first place by the beauty of the green spaces in the area and the eclectic mix of shops and eatery’s on the Boulevard.
As Treasurer of Brookline Together, I will get right to work bringing the accounts of both organizations together to develop a full picture of the financial status of the new organization.
I will aim to complete the following goals in the first year:
Informal Audit – working with the existing treasurers of BCC and SPDC, I will conduct a full accounting of all funds and provide a report to the board of Brookline together.
Financial Processes – As chair of the finance committee, the first task will be to devise and implement a formal set of systems and processes that will govern how Brookline Together shall operate financially.
Feasibility Process – One of the more important aspects of the treasurer’s role to me is the ability to assess the feasibility and profitability of the fundraisers and events that the organization holds. I will guide the Finance committee to develop a system that provide committees with a way to review the return on investment of fundraisers and events given them key information to make better informed decisions when planning those events.
